Resources

Artists helping Artists

As Chez Flaneur is in the early stages of developing its niche, we have not fleshed this part out.  Our intention is to identify our areas of research to find or create solutions.  We welcome your input, ideas or resources you have available.

For Members to make art, they will need Monetary and Non-Monetary Resources.  This need for resources may be detailed in their Crowdfunding site.  We have found that if an Artist makes a professional presentation of their objectives and requirements, then those around them will contribute to their project more readily.

For Supporters to assist Members, they need an access point to identify those Members who have needs and the purpose.  Supporters may provide Monetary or Non-Monetary Assistance.

We will use peer-to-peer online tools that already exist (ie AirBnb, RVzy, GoFundme).  Using these platforms will help to administer the relationship: payments; insurance etc.  We will approach these platforms to explore Strategic Partnerships.  In addition, we will facilitate direct connections.

Monetary Support

Chez Flaneur will provide assistance on a fee for service basis to:

  • Create, publicize and administer a crowdfunding site.

  • Write grant applications

  • Write investment pitches

Chez Flaneur does not directly provide monetary support.  We have created a fund to help Members launch, by funding the Basic Member Service.

Non-Monetary Support

Support of Artists may take the form of donating the use of assets or expertise.  The cost to the Artist may be nominal.  Maybe the payment is by way of barter.  Chez Flaneur members will be able to make referrals of other Members and of Supporters

  • Transportation

    • Lending a vehicle.  For example Paul Hentschel lent an RV to an Artist.

    • Providing a ride.  For example Paul Hentschel is driving from ON to BC and could tow an Artist’s trailer

    • Sharing airline points

  • Accommodation

    • Low periods for recreational properties.  For example Reggie Flaneur is using a cottage for the summer to write this business plan!  It is like a residency.

    • House Sitting

    • Equipment Library

    • Where Supporters provide access to tools.  For example Reggie Flaneur has camera equipment that has been used by Artists in joint projects.

    • Meik Wiking in the book Lykke recommends an equipment library as a community building act that leads to happiness.

  • Studios

    • Simply a relationship with a public space that is not used.  For example, a performance space in a bar or church.

    • Reggie Flaneur is willing to lend Studio B (4x4 Sprinter) as a mobile studio.
